Bloody Moon

Yet, I never wept in daylight,
Never spoke with the absence in my pocket.
With bloodshot eyes upon the sky,
I never gazed,
Never sighed with a broken smile
Yet, I never screamed in silence,
Never proved my fate was madness to you.
Within me, smoke and sorrow
Within me,
A bloody moon and these bloodstained eyes.

The shade of a single tree was enough for both of us. It wasn’t the wind; it was you who blew.
